Scholastic Big Day

A fun design for this website for Scholastic's rich, breakthrough Pre-K curriculum.

Visual Design, Flash Development

Take one look and you'll know just how fun it was to design this website for Scholastic's rich, breakthrough Pre-K curriculum. The product has tons of resources and components and we wanted to communicate that variety through the design. Using photo collage and illustrations, we sought to capture the excitement of young children's natural curiosity and enthusiasm for discovery.

Visual Design, Flash Development

A long-time client, the American museum of Natural History asked us to design a mini-site for their Event and Conference Services department. The site would need to function as an elegant online brochure for one of New York City’s premier venues.

We built this XML-driven all-Flash site in a way that is at once visually immersive, yet is easy to update and maintain. Transitions are fluid and the interaction gives the site’s content an appropriately high-end appeal.

China Care

Deployed a highly-customized design and CMS for this vibrant non-profit.

IA, Visual Design, CMS Development

In 2007, China Care had an out-dated website targeting grassroots donors and college volunteers. But now, their organization had matured and they were ready to court corporate donors and deeper pockets for the funding they needed to provide emergency medical relief to Chinese orphans. We re-imagined the way users would perceive their brand and interact with their site.

The site was rebuilt on a customized Drupal platform, allowing their modest staff to manage news, events, emergency calls-to-action and community areas with ease. We provided automation to assist with eNewsletter creation. We integrated and optimized an E-Commerce platform for donations, allowing users to select specific children or causes for their donations.

DK Kids

A transformation of DK Publishing's online book catalogue for kids.

IA, Visual Design, Development

The goal for the kiddk.com site redesign was to transform DK Publishing’s large catalogue of non-fiction books for kids into a online destination by leveraging their extensive content through an interactive medium.

The design was implemented by using practical photography and scanning real paper to give the site a striking look. It was important that the animation and transitions also moved like real paper to deliver an immersive site experience. Using paper for interface elements also offers an accessible and tactile navigation that encourages exploration.

This web site has received numerous industry accolades including Communication Arts “Site of the Week” and How Magazine’s “Top Ten of the Web” among others.
